The 4th Block Exhibition, Kharkiv, Ukraine, 2018

INTERNATIONAL TRIENNIAL “The 4th Block” is a unique designer’s exhibition that takes place every three years in Kharkiv –

Its intent is to reveal the latest trends and innovations in contemporary poster designs, as well as other visual arts, which have an environmental aim or connotation. It takes its’ name – “The 4th Block” from the nuclear reactor number 4, which was destroyed in the devastating explosion of the Chernobyl nuclear power station in 1986.

Cultural events, such as the International Triennial “The 4th Block” are an integral part of the environmental education of our society both in Ukraine and around the globe. They initiate open dialogs between the individuals of different cultural realms and promote a better understanding of environmental issues among people with diverse social and professional backgrounds. Every day new work relationships are formed, new artistic techniques are found and new aspirations are realized. This, in turn, contributes to finding solutions to ecological and cultural problems that we face today and helps to further promote the establishment of a more harmonious relationship between nature and men.
