II International poster competition UNOVIS. XXI century. #EL130
The year 2021 marked the 130th anniversary of the birth of El Lissitzky (1890 – 1941).

El Lissitzky is one of the greatest masters of the European and Russian avant-garde, an engineer-architect, an artist-constructor, an illustrator, a font master, a designer, an art theorist.

A significant milestone for the world’s art and design is his creative period in Vitebsk, his collaboration with Kazimir Malevich, participation in the program activities of the “UNOVIS” in Vitebsk art school, the development of a new visual language in typography, poster and exhibition designs.

Dates of the competition – 30.04.2021 – 25.12.2021

OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION
Popularization of the work of El Lissitzky and the heritage of the Vitebsk art school.
Interconnection of the art system of El Lissitzky and relevant design language.
Revealing the linguistic structure of the text in relation to the image of space and time in a poster, art object, book; construction and deconstruction of meaning in design.

PROGRAM OF THE COMPETITION
Publication of information about the competition on the founders’ websites and dedicated project pages of Facebook, Vkontakte, Instagram.
The date of the competition is 30.04.2021 – 25.12.2021.
Placement of the winners’ entries on the exhibition grounds in Vitebsk and Minsk: Museum Vitebsk Center of Modern and Contemporary Ar”, Vitebsk State Technological University, Belarusian Union of designers.

Awards ceremony (07.02.2022 – 28.02.2022).

Project of a book about the journey of El Lissitzky and his artistic space in time. Combination of verbal and visual-graphic. Text as a graphic element and an integral part of the visual series.

С.1 The book is presented as an original layout for printing, and a photo – and / or video presentation. Book presentation 30-60 sec. 8-12 pages, format А4 –А5, collage, photomontage, graphics.

AWARDS
All participants of the competition receive a diploma of the participant, an electronic catalog. The winners receive diplomas of the corresponding places and nominations.
The Grand Prix is ​​awarded based on the results of all nominations of the competition.

THE TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
Posters and projects created in 2018 – 2021 are accepted for the competition.
Participation in the competition is free.
Authors who have passed the selection stages will be notified by email.
Files for printing posters and selected projects must be sent to the address provided in the letter.
Works and projects submitted for the competition may be published and exhibited by the organizers of the competition in order to promote the competition.
